My mom... what can I say. We had a conversation one day about how I thought the world
was all about the rules I was supposed to follow. She told me all about how that was how
she saw the world growing up. Then she told me about how she figured out that she could
throw all the rules away. I asked her how come she neglected to tell me! She said, "I
only figured it out when I was fifty!" She grows in wisdom.
My mom is the one on the left. My dad is on the right and my sister is between them.
My parents live in Maryland in the house I grew up in since I was six. Parts of the
house have been remodeled. There are some extra doors and windows, and one less wall than
when I lived there. There is now a goldfish pond in the back yard. In many ways though, it
is home to me. But then, home is where the heart is, and my heart is truly with my
parents. I love them both dearly.
