July 4, 1998. I took a trip up to Seattle to see my friend Jeff, his girlfriend Sue,
and her son Forrest. The fireworks were ok, but the real beauty is in the scenery. I don't
remember the name of the falls, but we took a day to go hiking along a river where there
was a beautiful falls. Of course, there's also a hydroelectric plant there, but they did a
pretty good job of hiding the outlet from the plant.
While there, we also toured the Seattle zoo. It's not a very big zoo, and my attempts
at photographing the bats without a flash, well, didn't quite turn out. However, Sue got
some great shots of the butterflies with her digital camera. I was rather impressed with
the quality. And the instant gratification of having the picture computer-ready as soon as
we got home was a bonus.
